Tanum #1
This page is about the meaning, origin and characteristic of the symbol, emblem, seal, sign, logo or flag: Tanum #1.
A rock carving discovered in Tanum on the western coast of Sweden.
Located in the Swedish region of Bohuslän, Tanum is a fascinating archeological site. While rock carvings and other similar art forms exist in many locations across Europe, Tanum is famous for its abundant and highly varied paintings, whose primary creation dates span the length of the Bronze Age (1800-500 B.C.E.)
According to UNESCO, over 1500 rock art sites have been found in Bohuslän alone, and 13 different types of images-including people, ships, animals and various objects- have been identified in the depictions.
