The Term "Biafraland" was originally coined by a Black European (Medical) Doctor of Biafran Heritage , Joseph Chikelue Obi , in December 1991 - after he personally felt that the previous aforementioned names ( "Bight of Biafra" and "Biafra" ) did not really do enough Justice to the Multicultural Nature of Region.

The Official Flag of Biafraland was also originally designed by Dr Joseph Chikelue Obi , in December 1991 - and , to date , is still the only Biafran Flag which tacitly recognizes the fact that Biafraland and the Federal Republic of Nigeria should "Closely Cooperate" with each other.

Professor Doctor Joseph Chikelue Obi currently serves as the State Counsellor of Biafraland. more »
