Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) is a political party in India with political presence mainly in Bihar and Jharkhand.

It is currently the fifth largest party in Lok Sabha with 20 seats. Janata Dal (United) party mentor and patron is the veteran socialist leader George Fernandes.

The Janata Dal (United) was formed with the merger of the Sharad Yadav faction of the Janata Dal, the Lokshakti Party and the Samata Party On 30 October 2003.
