A sign used in alchemy to represent the metal brass.

Since brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, its emblem is a combination of two individual symbols; with only one horizontal line across the vertical, this would be symbol for copper (and Venus), but by adding the second line the symbol for zinc is invoked as well.
