26:53 · From the seal of the Prince of Byblos and the period 3000 to 2000 B.C. Byblos was a coastal city in old Phoenicia (modern day Lebanon). In antiquity there was a famous Aphrodite temple in the city. Its inhabitants were good shipbuilders, and off Byblos in the Mediterranean lay Cyprus, later called the "island of Aphrodite", well known for its Aphrodite Temples. Aphrodite was the same Venus deity as the old Astarte and the still older Ishtar.
